Job Description:
As an Outside Parts Salesperson (OPS) at Interstate Trucksource, you will be responsible for expanding our parts sales in the field by engaging with current and potential customers, understanding their needs, and providing solutions. You will work closely with customers, service teams, and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of parts while driving revenue growth and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect and build relationships with new and existing customers in the heavy-duty truck industry.
- Conduct regular visits to customer locations to promote parts sales, address customer inquiries, and offer product recommendations.
- Provide excellent customer service by identifying customer needs and offering tailored parts solutions.
- Develop and maintain a customer base within an assigned territory, increasing market share for our parts department.
- Collaborate with the parts department to ensure accurate inventory levels and quick turnaround for parts orders.
- Prepare and submit quotes for parts, follow up with customers, and close sales.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities.
- Stay updated on new parts, products, and industry trends to offer knowledgeable advice to customers.
- Participate in trade shows and industry events as needed to promote the dealership’s parts offerings.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in the heavy-duty truck, parts, or automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck parts and components (diesel engines, transmissions, suspension systems, etc.).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with heavy-duty truck dealership sales or parts.
- Knowledge of fleet management software or parts inventory systems.
